Quick answer
Replai now imports up to 90 days of the WhatsApp history already on your phone when you reconnect your number, so the assistant can continue a thread it did not start. It learns how your business writes from your own replies, never from its own, and can draft a knowledge base from answers you have already given. Conversation Packs now carry forward for 12 months.
- Reconnect your number and Replai imports up to 90 days of existing conversations.
- It learns your writing style from your own replies, and you can edit what it learned.
- It never learns from its own messages, so its mistakes cannot become habits.
- Unused Conversation Pack messages now carry forward for 12 months instead of expiring.

Most WhatsApp assistants start from nothing. They know the knowledge base you uploaded, the instructions you typed, and exactly as much about your business as you had patience to write down that afternoon.
Meanwhile the thing that actually describes your business, years of you answering customers in your own words, sits on your phone unread. WhatsApp has more than 3 billion users in over 180 countries (WhatsApp, About page), and for a small business almost all of its institutional knowledge lives in those threads.
This release is about reading them.
Can the bot use conversations that happened before it was connected?
It can now. Until this week, Replai's memory began the moment you paired your number. A customer who wrote "I'm still waiting on the reply you promised yesterday" was asked to explain themselves again, because yesterday happened before the assistant existed.
Reconnect your number and Replai imports the history WhatsApp already holds, up to 90 days, capped per conversation. The assistant reads it before answering, so it can pick up a thread it did not start.
Nothing in that import triggers anything. No replies are sent, no order notifications fire, and none of it counts against your conversation cap. It is read, not acted on.
You will see the prompt on your dashboard if your number was linked before this shipped. It takes about a minute, and your bot pauses while you re-scan the QR, so keep your phone nearby.
How does it learn the way you write?
Every reply you have written to a customer is a sample of your real voice: whether you greet people, how long you run, which phrases you reach for, whether you use the formal you in a language that has one.
Replai now reads those replies, writes down what it finds, and applies it to every answer.

Two things matter about how this works.
It never learns from its own messages. Only replies written by a person count: you, on your phone, and your team in the dashboard. An assistant that studies its own output drifts towards itself, and every mistake it makes becomes a habit it keeps. We watched a third-party tool do exactly that to a business: it scraped their chat history, could not tell the company apart from its assistant, and wrote the assistant's own wrong price into their knowledge base as a fact.
Auto-replies are not your voice. The WhatsApp Business app, which passed 200 million monthly active users in June 2023 (TechCrunch, 2023), ships greeting and away messages that send automatically. One account had its greeting in 152 separate threads. A sentence repeated across that many conversations is a template, not a writing style, so it is left out. So are phone numbers, account numbers and email addresses, which have no business being in a style guide.
It is not infallible, because it is a model reading your writing. That is why the whole profile is shown to you in plain text, and why you can correct any line of it or delete it entirely.
Can it build a knowledge base from chats you have already had?
The hardest part of setting up any assistant is writing down what you know. Most owners never finish, because the answers already exist, scattered across a thousand conversations.
On the Knowledge base page, Build from your past chats reads the replies you have written, works out the questions behind them, and proposes them as facts for you to confirm.

The useful part is the amber row. When your history gives three different prices for one product, an old price, a promotion and today's price, it does not average them, take the newest, or quietly choose. It shows you all three and asks which is current. That disagreement is usually the most valuable thing in a chat history, and it is exactly what an unattended tool gets wrong.
Nothing reaches your assistant until you press the button. If you would rather start from a written document, the knowledge base guide still applies: instructions describe how to behave, the knowledge base holds what is true.
Do Conversation Packs still expire?
No. A Conversation Pack used to be tied to the cycle you bought it in, and whatever you had not used was written off at renewal.
A pack is now a balance. Your plan's own conversations are spent first each cycle, and whatever is left of a pack rolls into the next one, for 12 months from the day you bought it.

Buy a pack in a busy month and the remainder covers the quiet one. There is nothing to claim and nothing to remember. If you already own a pack, the balance is on your billing page now.
What does this cost?
Nothing extra. Learning your voice and reading your history are included in every plan: $19 Starter, $49 Growth, $99 Pro, with the AI included and no per-message fee. The assistant carries a little more context on each reply, and that is our cost rather than yours.
What should you do next?
- Reconnect your number if you see the prompt on your dashboard. That is what brings your history in.
- Read what it learned about you under Settings, Bot, How your bot writes, and fix anything wrong. If it missed something, for example that you always use the formal you, add that line yourself.
- Try Build from your past chats on the Knowledge base page once your history has arrived.
Not using Replai yet? The demo answers three of your own customers' questions from your website or price list, in about twenty seconds, with no sign-up.
If the assistant still sounds wrong after all this, tell us what it said and what you would have said instead. That gap is the whole job.
Frequently asked questions
Will importing my chat history make the bot reply to old conversations?
- No. Imported messages are stored and read, never acted on. Nothing in the import sends a reply, fires an order notification or counts against your conversation cap. A new account also answers new conversations only by default, so the threads already on your phone stay with you until you choose otherwise in Settings.
Does the assistant learn from its own replies?
- No, and that is deliberate. Only messages written by a person count: what you send from your phone, and what your team writes in the dashboard. An assistant that studies its own output drifts towards itself, and each mistake it makes becomes a habit it repeats. Excluding its own messages is what prevents that loop.
Can I see and change what Replai learned about my writing?
- Yes. The whole profile is shown in plain text under Settings, Bot, How your bot writes. You can correct any line, add a rule it missed, or clear the box entirely to switch the feature off for that number. It is written by a model reading your replies, so reviewing it is part of the design.
Do unused Conversation Pack messages still expire at the end of the cycle?
- No. A pack is now a balance rather than a monthly allowance. Your plan's own conversations are spent first each cycle, and whatever is left of a pack carries into the next one for 12 months from the day you bought it. A pack is 100 conversations, at $9 on Starter, $8 on Growth and $7 on Pro.
