Used car dealers

WhatsApp for used car dealers

Price, mileage, loan estimates and viewing slots for every car on your lot, answered at 11pm from your own stock list. Negotiation and trade-ins stay with your sales team.

Quick answer

A dealer's WhatsApp assistant answers whether a car is still available, its price, year, mileage, colour and condition from the stock list you edit as cars sell, gives the loan estimate wording you approve, and books test drives into a Google Sheet. Final price, discounts, trade-in values and loan approval always go to a salesperson.

  • Remove a sold car from the list and the assistant stops offering it immediately.
  • Loan estimates use only the wording your finance partner approved, subject to approval.
  • Test drives become sheet rows with the car, the time and any trade-in mentioned.
  • Price talk is never automated: every negotiation is handed to a salesperson.

Every enquiry that shows intent lands in a sheet with the name, number and what they asked.

A used car listing on a classifieds site produces the same message thirty times: "still available?", "best price?", "mileage?", "can I finance it?". Your salesperson answers the first few properly, the next few in one word, and the ones that arrive at 11pm not at all. Every unanswered buyer is looking at another listing.

Why dealer WhatsApp burns out salespeople

Buyers message every listing at once. The MIT lead response study found that calling a web lead within five minutes rather than thirty makes contact 100 times more likely, and qualification 21 times more likely (InsideSales.com/MIT Lead Response Management Study, 2007). A one-line availability check is that lead exactly, and it is usually sent to five dealers in the same minute.

Buyers shop in the evening, ask the same questions about every car, and expect a fast, exact answer. The answers are all on your stock list: year, mileage, price, colour, whether it is still available, what a monthly payment might look like. What actually needs a salesperson is the last ten percent: the negotiation, the trade-in, the loan paperwork.

What can a WhatsApp bot handle for a used car dealer?

Paste your stock list and rules into the knowledge base. The assistant answers from it on the number your listings carry, in whatever language the buyer writes in, voice notes included.

Buyer asksAnswered from
Still available, price, mileageYour stock list, edited as cars sell
Specs and conditionYour notes per car
Loan and deposit estimateYour approved wording and figures
Test-drive slotsThe times you keep in its notes
Location and hoursYour details

A serious buyer becomes a row in your Google Sheet: name, number, the car, the test-drive time, and whether they mentioned a trade-in or a loan. Your salespeople call the sheet, not the chat backlog.

What should stay with your salespeople?

Final price, discounts, trade-in values and loan approval are never answered by the assistant. It quotes the listed price, says a salesperson will handle the rest, and hands the thread over with the details attached. Complaints after a sale go the same way.

An evening with it switched on

A listing goes live at 5pm. By midnight the assistant has answered availability and price for the same car thirty-one times, given the loan estimate wording twenty times, and logged six test-drive requests into the sheet for the team to confirm. Three buyers asked for the best price; all three are flagged for a call in the morning. The team starts the day with six appointments and three warm negotiations instead of a scroll through fifty chats.

Set up in 10 minutes

Scan the QR with the phone that holds your listings number. Paste the stock list, the loan wording your finance partner approves, slots and location. Set language to auto. Ask it about a car from another phone. Fix what reads wrong. From then on new buyers are answered; existing negotiations stay with your team.

Frequently asked questions

Can a WhatsApp bot answer questions about specific cars on my lot?

Yes, from the stock list you paste in: model, year, mileage, colour, price, condition notes and photos link. When a car sells, remove it from the list and the assistant stops offering it. It says so if a car is not on the list rather than inventing one.

Can it give a loan estimate?

Only the rough estimate you define, with the wording you approve, such as 'subject to bank approval'. It does not promise approval or a rate, and it passes eligibility questions to your sales team.

Will it negotiate?

No. The assistant quotes the listed price and hands price talk to a salesperson, with the customer's details and the car they asked about. That keeps the number consistent and keeps your margin decisions with people.

Does it work on our existing showroom number?

Yes. It pairs to the WhatsApp number on your listings by QR, like WhatsApp Web, and by default answers new conversations only, so buyers your team is already negotiating with are not touched.
