Pet shops and vets

WhatsApp for pet shops, groomers and vet clinics

Grooming prices, vaccination schedules, stock and appointment slots answered from your own notes. Sick animals and medical questions reach the vet, never a guessed answer.

Quick answer

A pet shop or clinic assistant on WhatsApp answers grooming and boarding prices by breed and size, vaccination and deworming schedules, stock of food and supplies, hours and slots, all from your notes. Bookings become Google Sheet rows with the pet's name and breed. Any symptom, injury, medication or dosage question goes to the vet immediately.

  • Two kinds of message, one rule: routine answers from your list, symptoms to the vet.
  • The assistant gives the one safety line you write, then hands the thread over.
  • Stock answers are only as current as the list you paste in, so keep it edited.
  • Bookings land in a sheet with owner, pet name, breed, service and time.

  1. How much is grooming for a Persian cat? Any slots Saturday?21:14
  2. Persian full groom is $55, about 2 hours, includes bath, dry, nails and ear clean. Saturday we have 10am and 2pm. Shall I book?21:14
  3. 10am. She's been vomiting for two days, is that ok?21:16
  4. 10am requested, reception confirms the slot shortly. Vomiting for two days I'll pass to the vet now so someone calls you today. If she's not drinking or is very weak, please bring her in straight away.21:16

Every enquiry that shows intent lands in a sheet with the name, number and what they asked.

Pet owners message at odd hours with a mix of routine and urgent: "how much is grooming?", "when is the next vaccine due?", "do you have kitten food in stock?", and then "my dog is limping, what should I do?". The routine questions have fixed answers; the urgent ones need a vet, fast. Neither should wait until someone at the counter has a free hand.

Why pet WhatsApp needs two kinds of answer

Both kinds reward a fast reply, for different reasons. The MIT lead response study found that calling a web lead within five minutes rather than thirty makes contact 100 times more likely (InsideSales.com/MIT Lead Response Management Study, 2007). A grooming enquiry is a booking you can lose; a message about a sick animal is one you cannot afford to leave sitting until the counter is free.

Most messages are about prices, schedules, stock and slots. A few are about a sick animal, and those must reach a vet, never a guessed answer from anyone, human or bot. A good assistant has to be fast on the first kind and completely honest about the second.

What can a WhatsApp bot handle for a pet shop or vet clinic?

Paste your grooming and boarding prices, vaccination schedule, stock list, hours and slots. The assistant answers from that on your clinic or shop number, in the customer's language.

Bookings become rows in your Google Sheet: owner, pet's name and breed, service, time. The counter confirms from the sheet.

What must go to the vet?

Any symptom, injury, medication or dosage question is handed to the vet immediately with the conversation attached. The assistant gives one safety line you write, such as bring the animal in if it is not drinking, and nothing more. Emergencies outside hours get your emergency instruction, not a promise.

An evening with it switched on

Twelve messages after closing. Nine are grooming and boarding enquiries, all quoted and five booked into the sheet. Two ask about kitten food stock; answered from the list. One describes a dog that has not eaten for two days; the assistant tells the owner to bring the dog in first thing and flags the thread for the vet, who reads it before the clinic opens.

Set up in 10 minutes

Scan the QR with the phone holding your clinic or shop number. Paste prices, schedules, stock and slots, plus the safety line for sick animals. Test from another phone with a grooming question and a symptom, and check it hands the symptom over. Switch it on; existing chats stay with you.

Frequently asked questions

Can a WhatsApp bot answer pet grooming and boarding questions?

Yes, from your price list: grooming by breed and size, boarding per night, what is included, and the slots you keep in its notes. It takes the request and logs it to a Google Sheet with the pet's name and breed, for reception to confirm; it does not write into your diary.

What does it do when someone describes a sick animal?

It is told that any symptom goes to the vet. It gives the one safety line you write for it, such as bring the animal in if it is not drinking, and hands the thread to a person immediately. It never suggests a diagnosis or a dose.

Can it answer vaccination questions?

It answers from your schedule notes: which vaccines at which age, how often, and the price. Questions about a specific animal's history go to the clinic staff.

Does it check stock?

From the stock list you paste in. Keep the list current and it tells customers what is available and the price; it says it will check for anything not listed.
